At Relais del Maro, we believe that a perfect holiday also involves great taste. That’s why we take you on a gastronomic journey that starts with breakfast and continues through to aperitivo, always with a focus on quality and local tradition.

Km0 Breakfast

Every morning, our buffet tells the story of the Valle Impero through carefully selected products:
– the essential Ligurian focaccia and the pizza from “Aunt Bruna”, a true celebrity in Borgomaro;
Fresh cakes and bread, baked daily by Mamma Piera and our pastry chef Patrizio
Cheeses and cold cuts selected from the best Ligurian and Piedmontese producers
– Specialties such as Robiola di Roccaverano, Testun from Piedmont, the exquisite cold cuts from Salumeria Giacobbe, and cheeses from Agrilocanda Cornus.

We have carefully selected cheeses and cured meats by personally visiting each local and southern Piedmontese producer. Additionally, we periodically offer typical products from various Italian regions: Toma del Marchesato and Raschera DOP from Piedmont, or Fontina from the Aosta Valley, prosciutto crudo, or cooked salami – delights that will make your breakfast table even more enjoyable. A true highlight is the artisan cold cuts from Salumeria Giacobbe and the cheeses from Agrilocanda Cornus. Handcrafted bresaola and Tome cheeses from purebred Cabannina cattle: unique delicacies worth sharing. Taste to believe!

Natural and Organic

One of our prides is the great attention to natural and organic products: jams without preservatives, made only with fruit and lemons (also grown in Liguria), organic juices with no added sugar or additives, completely natural yogurts, and many other products that reflect our commitment to your well-being and wholesome food.

Everyone deserves to enjoy a delicious and healthy breakfast, even those with celiac disease or food intolerances. That’s why part of our breakfast selection is gluten-free and lactose-free. We have also considered guests following a vegetarian or vegan diet, offering a selection of delicious products free from meat and animal-based ingredients. Please remember to indicate your dietary requirements when booking.

Light lunch

If after our abundant breakfast you still have room for one of Mamma Piera’s delicacies, you can relax in the shade of our garden and enjoy light, traditional dishes such as tasty mixed salads, trofie with pesto, prosciutto and melon, pizza, and many other typical specialties.

Afternoon tea

A truly British tradition, now loved all over the world and one we wanted to bring to Liguria: every day from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, you can enjoy complimentary homemade cakes and biscuits and finger sandwiches accompanied by our selection of coffees and more than 30 different types of tea.

The aperitivo

At Relais del Maro, it’s always aperitivo time! An Aperol Spritz? A nice glass of wine? A gin and tonic? Ask at reception for our bar menu and order your favorite drink… in the afternoon, it will be served with delicious appetizers for a true Italian happy hour!

What about dinner?

One of the main goals of an Albergo Diffuso is to collaborate with local businesses in the village and surrounding areas.

Liguria is known for its simple yet delicious cuisine, full of unique dishes, all enhanced by the delicate Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil: explore the local flavors in the many restaurants nearby and enjoy specialties like the famous borage ravioli or Ligurian-style rabbit. In the valley and in Imperia, there are many restaurants worth visiting, and we’ll be happy to provide you with all the information you need – just ask!

Our rooms, your home

In three historic residences in Borgomaro, each with its own personality, 14 unique rooms await you, where history and comfort come together. From the Suite overlooking the garden to the intimate rooms of the Fienile, from the elegant spaces of the Casa Madre to the charming rooms of the Casa del Borgo: every space has been carefully restored, furnished with antique pieces, and equipped with all modern comforts. Our hallway? The village’s narrow streets.
