The Relais is located in the heart of Borgomaro, a historic village and the main town of Valle Impero, in the inland area of Imperia.
Our small municipality has about 900 inhabitants, including the surrounding hamlets; the village itself counts only 300 residents. Here, silence and tranquility reign, the streams flow gently, swelling only after rainfalls, becoming fascinating in their own way. The kingdom of olive oil
This is the realm of Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil, which blends with a varied and appetizing cuisine. Many small olive mills scattered among the steep valleys and along the Ligurian coast serve as breadcrumbs to follow and gather on a journey discovering this “golden treasure,” which has brought us to the tables and dishes of great chefs and Michelin-starred restaurants.

Liguria di Ponente, where the sea meets authenticity
Liguria di Ponente is an enchanting land, stretching from the Riviera coast to the villages of its inland valleys. It extends from the provinces of Savona and Imperia up to the French border, where it seamlessly blends into the Côte d’Azur. Its fine sandy beaches alternate with picturesque coastal villages, while inland, a network of ancient medieval towns, with their narrow caruggi and stone castles, reveals centuries of history.
This is a land of genuine flavors: here grows the prized Taggiasca olive, producing an extra virgin olive oil of unparalleled quality, and renowned DOC wines such as Pigato, Rossese, and Vermentino.
How to reach us
From the Genoa–Ventimiglia highway (A10), take the exit Imperia Est.
Once you reach the main road, turn right toward Torino and continue straight ahead.
After passing through three tunnels and shortly before the fourth, turn right (you’ll see the first sign for Borgomaro), cross over the tunnel, and follow the signs for Borgomaro.
At the village entrance, you’ll find a bridge and a church on your left, and a pink building on your right: that’s your Relais del Maro. We’re located approximately 15 km from the motorway exit.
